Clearly, this is leaning toward the "bird-man experience". However, I'll note that this picture is of Mo-Town, home to Mo Sheldon's Arizona Flying Circus. I want to fly there in my own ultralight that I designed an built. Mo-Town is about 100 miles away from my home. So, my dream also includes the cross-country requirements discussed here previously.
Changes I have already identified that will be needed to accommodate this kind of flying:
- Make this a multi-engine design to allow for safe flight at the altitudes shown in the drawing
- Increase the wing area to get the stall speed down
- Get some form of crash protection around the pilo…
